Refrigerator-Freezer Control. The refrigerator-freezer
control senses the change in temperature of the evaporator plate,
located in the refrigerator compartment. When a refrigerator temperature
change has been detected, the control turns the compressor on or
off as required. The setting you select on the control will be maintained.
The control is numbered from 1 to 7. Number 1 is the warmest, and
number 7 is the coldest setting. We recommend a setting refrigerator
on number 4. However, feel free to regulate the refrigerator control
as desired after the refrigerator and freezer compartments have
cooled.
Checking the Temperature. After several days under
normal load conditions, be sure to check the refrigerator temperature
inside the freezer section. Use a good quality thermometer that
is capable of registering below zero degrees. Place the thermometer
in the center of the freezer, surrounded by frozen packages. Leave
the thermometer overnight before reading and making any control
adjustments. For best storage the temperature should be in the 0°
F. to 2° F. range. Adjust the refrigerator-freezer control as
needed.
Three-Position Energy Saver Refrigerator Control
for Energy Conservation.
The three-position energy saver control allows you to save electricity.
Any freezer will sweat around the doors in hot, humid weather. This
sweating is a lot like a glass of ice water in hot weather when
humidity condenses on the glass. A special heater strip between
the doors minimizes this normal sweating during hot, humid weather.
Two Ways to Save Electricity. First, the special
heater strip only operates when the refrigerator compressor is running.
Second, the energy saver control has three settings, so you can
match the refrigerator to the humidity conditions in your house.
You set the refrigerator energy saver to determine the savings.
